11 Year Old Card

Hi
I'm back with a very quick card that I made for my son's friend's birthday.

For my main layer I embossed it with my Argyle impression plate and then die cut the number 11 from it. I adhered some Sugar Plum paper behind the numbers and then layered this on some Pure Poppy cardstock and onto a white card base. I stamped my sentiment from Birthday Basics in Ripe Avocado ink and then cut the strip into a banner. Finally I sewed on some Pure Poppy buttons to either end. The main layer was then popped up on foam tape.

Rainy Day Emma

Hi,
Its been a long time I know - I have been making cards but just not having the time to upload them to my blog. With Harry playing Under 9s AFL, Rohan playing both Under 11s and also Under 12s and Bethany doing her gymnastics, I am busy, busy, busy!!! For 6 months of the year, footy rules our life but I wouldn't have it any other way! Anyway I have made time tonight to post my card, so hopefully there won't be such a long absence between posts from now on.

I have made my card as part of my Design Team role over at The Stamp Spot and have chosen to work with an adorable CC Designs image - Rainy Day Emma. The Stamp Spot blog has a monthly challenge and prize for the winning creation. Here it is for the month of April:

Here is my card:

I stamped Emma onto some cream cardstock in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with Copics. She was paper pieced with some paper from the October Afternoon Thrift Shop Collection. I stamped Emma again on some scrap card using this as a mask to stamp my Chevron Backdrops along the bottom of my card in Chocolate Chip ink. Above this I pierced some holes and cross stitched with some Kraft thread. 

The sentiment was stamped in Kraft ink onto a MFT Chat Bubble die cut and popped up in the centre with dimensionals. The main layer was matted on some Chocolate Chip cardstock and then adhered to my Kraft base.

On the inside I stamped my sentiment in Kraft ink onto an oval nestie die cut and this was matted with a scallop nestie die cut.

Shopping Girl

I have made another card for The Stamp Spot blog using one of their Leere Designs stamps - Shopping Girl. This fits in with their April Challenge Spots:

I used some Chocolate Chip cardstock for my base with some gorgeous DP (unsure of the name). I stamped my Shopping Girl image directlly onto a MFT Open Scallop Doily Oval. I then stamped parts of the image again onto more paper which was then paper pieced over the top. Her skin and hair was coloured with Copics. I used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Inside and Out Birthday, stamping it onto the main layer in Chocolate Chip ink. 

I machine stitched around the edge and along the Chocolate Chip strip before tying some brown and white gingham ribbon around the centre and finishing it off with some twine. Finally I added some silver rhinestones under the sentiment and attached my main image with dimensionals.

Colour Create Challenge #93 - Deep Purple, Cream and Bright Green

It's time to see what Julie has come up with for the challenge over at Colour Create this fortnight. Challenge #93 is to used Deep Purple, Cream and Bright Green with the option of extra bows. Here is the inspiration picture:

 

I have to say that this is one of my all time favourite colour combos and I loved working on this challenge. Here is my card:

I used Rustic Cream cardstock for my base and main layer. I stamped the different flowers from Beautiful Blooms II in Sweet Plum ink and then masked them and stamped my leaves in Old Olive ink with the flowers.  Once I had stamped my flowers I used my Chevron Backdrop stamp to lightly stamp over the images with Chamomile tea dye ink. Finally I added some finishing touches to the flowers with  my purple and clear Atyou Spica glitter pens.  It was hard to get a clear picture but here is a close up of the glittery flowers. They look much better IRL:

I used some Plum Pudding satin ribbon to create my loops behind my sentiment. The sentiment was created by die cutting two Mat Stack 1 die cuts - one from Rustic Cream and one from Plum Pudding cardstock. I handcut the cream die cut a little smaller so the Plum Pudding could be used as a mat. The frame was stamped using my Round and Round frame in Plum Pudding ink. I then used my Thank You sentiment from Scattered Showers additions in Old Olive ink.  I stamped another flower and leaves, which I hand cut and adhered to the edge of my frame. Finally I added some silver rhinestones underneath my sentiment and a border around the edge of my card with my clear Atyou spica glitter pen.

The Stamp Spot - Woodland Lucy

Hello again,
I have another card to share using the cutest stamp - CC Designs Woodland Lucy which can be found over at The Stamp Spot.

I coloured her in with my Copics on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I then masked Lucy and stamped my CC Designs bench.  Her dress has been paper pieced using some Teresa Collins Spring Fling designer paper. My main image was matted with Kraft cardstock and then layered on some more Spring Fling paper. Some white ribbon was added to cover the join. I stamped my sentiment from Jolinne Birthday Balloon in Kraft ink and added some MFT Upsy Daisy die cuts which were sewn on to the card with clear buttons.

On the inside I used another sentiment from Jolinne Birthday Balloon with Kraft ink and some more Upsy Daisy Die cuts. Spring Fling paper was added for my mat layer.

I am entering this card in the CR84FN50 challenge which is to use these gorgeous colours:

Colour Create Challenge #92 - Pink, Blue, Sage and White/Cream

Hello,
I am back again with the Sharon's challenge over at the Colour Create blog and this time we have to use pink, blue, sage and white or cream. The optional extra is to add something torn. Here is the gorgeous inspiration pic for you:

 

I knew straight away that with Easter just around the corner, these would be the perfect colours for an Easter card. I have to apologise thought as I didn't add the torn element to my card - only realised after I had planned and cut everything that I hadn't thought of this!!

Now I have to say that I am not too happy with this card but it has been a crazy busy fortnight so I was a little rushed to get my card created in time. I used a retired Elzybells stamp for my image and coloured this in with Copics. I then die cut my grass using my MFT grass die and added a strip of lace along the bottom. 

I die cut my clouds from coaster board and again from white felt. The coaster board was then run through my Xyron and the felt adhered just to give the clouds some dimension and texture.  I do have a sentiment for this card - it is on the inside, but I didn't photograph this as its very simple.

Tea-riffic!

Hello!

This is my first post as a Guest Designer over at the Stamp Spot blog!! The Stamp Spot is a fantastic online scrapbooking/stamp store with a wide range of stamps, paper, card and much much more! I have followed the March Stamp Spot Challenge which is to use green, twine and brads:

 

I have used the Tea-rrific set by The Greeting Farm and stamped and coloured my image with Copics twice on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I then mounted the second image on top of the first with dimensionals. I used the sentiment from the same set and stamped it on a die cut Tiny Tag in Melon Mambo ink. This was then attached to the card with some baker's twine and thread into the top cup and adhered.  I used the MFT Dizzy Doily to mat my image with some Pirouette cardstock. 

I used some DeLovely paper from my stash for my background paper, layering it on some Whirlpool cardsock which was edged with my Upper Crest punch. The background white layer was run through my Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots embossing folder.

I continued the same theme on the inside my stamping the small teacup image repeatedly in New Sprout ink and Melon Mambo. Another sentiment from the Tea-riffic set was used also. It's such a fun set to create with with so many possibilities!

Exciting News!!

Hello all,
Hope everyone has had a great weekend! We have as we went camping with our extended family to the Gold Coast and after battling heavy rain, a broken gazebo and a muddy campsite, we ended up having an awesome time swimming and relaxing! I have definately caught the camping bug now and can't wait for our next adventure!!

Anyway, I am popping in with some very exciting news. I have been chosen as a guest designer with The Stamp Spot! They are a fantastic stamping and scrapbooking online store offering all the best stamps, cardstock and accessories. I am joining an awesome design team with so much talent and feel a little humbled to be in such great company!! Colour Create #91 - Yellow, Grey, Black and White

Hard to believe that another fortnight has passed and its time for the latest challenge over at Colour Create - #91 chosen by Mina - Yellow, Grey, Black and White with the optional extra of adding flowers to your creation. Here is this week's inspiration picture:

Another challenging set of colours but after tackling them I have to say that this is now one of my favourite colour combos! 

Here is my card:

I used some Grid cardstock to create my background with the Guidelines II stamp set., inking up my stamps using Smokey Shadow ink and Lemon Drops ink. My main image was stamped in Smokey Shadow ink using images from Blooming Button Bits. The yellow flowers were stamped in Lemon Drops ink using a flower image from an old Saleabration set from Stampin' Up called Bliss. The flowers were popped up on dimensionals and some tiny black pearls added to their centres. I stamped my sentiment from PTI's anniversary set Round and Round in Smokey Shadow ink and then die cut it with a tag die. The matting for the main image was edged with my Apron Lace border punch and the card was finished off with some black ribbon and a Lemon Zest button.

On the inside, I used another sentiment from Round and Round stamped over the flower image from Bliss. To finish off a strip of black pearls was added along the bottom.
