Colour Create Challenge #93 - Deep Purple, Cream and Bright Green

Hello,
It's time to see what Julie has come up with for the challenge over at Colour Create this fortnight. Challenge #93 is to used Deep Purple, Cream and Bright Green with the option of extra bows. Here is the inspiration picture:
29 March - Challenge 93 - Julie -Deep Purple, Bright Green and cream

I have to say that this is one of my all time favourite colour combos and I loved working on this challenge. Here is my card:

I used Rustic Cream cardstock for my base and main layer. I stamped the different flowers from Beautiful Blooms II in Sweet Plum ink and then masked them and stamped my leaves in Old Olive ink with the flowers.  Once I had stamped my flowers I used my Chevron Backdrop stamp to lightly stamp over the images with Chamomile tea dye ink. Finally I added some finishing touches to the flowers with  my purple and clear Atyou Spica glitter pens.  It was hard to get a clear picture but here is a close up of the glittery flowers. They look much better IRL:

I used some Plum Pudding satin ribbon to create my loops behind my sentiment. The sentiment was created by die cutting two Mat Stack 1 die cuts - one from Rustic Cream and one from Plum Pudding cardstock. I handcut the cream die cut a little smaller so the Plum Pudding could be used as a mat. The frame was stamped using my Round and Round frame in Plum Pudding ink. I then used my Thank You sentiment from Scattered Showers additions in Old Olive ink.  I stamped another flower and leaves, which I hand cut and adhered to the edge of my frame. Finally I added some silver rhinestones underneath my sentiment and a border around the edge of my card with my clear Atyou spica glitter pen.

The other girls in the team have created some stunning cards so hop on over and have a look at the Colour Create blog.

Colour Create Challenge #92 - Pink, Blue, Sage and White/Cream

Hello,
I am back again with the Sharon's challenge over at the Colour Create blog and this time we have to use pink, blue, sage and white or cream. The optional extra is to add something torn. Here is the gorgeous inspiration pic for you:

15 March - Challenge 92 - Sharon T- Pink, Blue, Sage and Cream/White

I knew straight away that with Easter just around the corner, these would be the perfect colours for an Easter card. I have to apologise thought as I didn't add the torn element to my card - only realised after I had planned and cut everything that I hadn't thought of this!!

Now I have to say that I am not too happy with this card but it has been a crazy busy fortnight so I was a little rushed to get my card created in time. I used a retired Elzybells stamp for my image and coloured this in with Copics. I then die cut my grass using my MFT grass die and added a strip of lace along the bottom.

I die cut my clouds from coaster board and again from white felt. The coaster board was then run through my Xyron and the felt adhered just to give the clouds some dimension and texture.  I do have a sentiment for this card - it is on the inside, but I didn't photograph this as its very simple.

The rest of the girls on the team have created gorgeous cards with these colours so hop over to the Colour Create blog and link up your entry to be in the draw to win the monthly prize!

Supplies
Stamps:  Easter Chicks (Elzybells - retired)
Cardstock: Spring Rain, Stampers Select White (PTI)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Accessories: cloud die, white felt (PTI); grass die (MFT); Xyron; Copics; lace (Kaisercraft)

Colour Create #91 - Yellow, Grey, Black and White

Hi,
Hard to believe that another fortnight has passed and its time for the latest challenge over at Colour Create - #91 chosen by Mina - Yellow, Grey, Black and White with the optional extra of adding flowers to your creation. Here is this week's inspiration picture:

1 March - Challenge 91 - Mina - Yellow, grey, black and white
Another challenging set of colours but after tackling them I have to say that this is now one of my favourite colour combos!
Here is my card:

I used some Grid cardstock to create my background with the Guidelines II stamp set., inking up my stamps using Smokey Shadow ink and Lemon Drops ink. My main image was stamped in Smokey Shadow ink using images from Blooming Button Bits. The yellow flowers were stamped in Lemon Drops ink using a flower image from an old Saleabration set from Stampin' Up called Bliss. The flowers were popped up on dimensionals and some tiny black pearls added to their centres. I stamped my sentiment from PTI's anniversary set Round and Round in Smokey Shadow ink and then die cut it with a tag die. The matting for the main image was edged with my Apron Lace border punch and the card was finished off with some black ribbon and a Lemon Zest button.

On the inside, I used another sentiment from Round and Round stamped over the flower image from Bliss. To finish off a strip of black pearls was added along the bottom.

The girls on the team have all done an amazing job with these colours so go have a look over at the Colour Create blog!

Colour Create Challenge #90

Hi,
It's time for this fortnight's new Colour Create Challenge and again I was stuck with the colour combo - lilac, blue, kraft and white chosen by the lovely Sabrina:

16 February - Challenge 90 - Sabrina - Lilac, Blue, Kraft, & White

The optional extra is to add a handmade paper charm. Once I decided to keep my card nice and simple, the colours just seemed to work:

For this card I used a new digi stamp - Wryn Blooms from Tiddly Inks. I have admired these images for a while now, so couldn't resist buying one and will definately be getting more! I first created my sentiment on the computer and added my image before printing it out. I coloured her with Copics and tied some baker's twine around the bottom of my white and kraft layers. I created my handmade charm using a flower from Beautiful Blooms II stamped in plum ink and hand cut it. I pierced a hole attached it with a jump ring to my bow. Finally I added some silver rhinestones to all my flowers.

On the inside I created another computer generated sentiment and stamped the same flower image from Beautiful Blooms II in plum and Baja Breeze ink. This was  matted on some more Kraft cardstock.

The girls on the team have come up with some lovely creations so be sure to take a look over at Colour Create and enter your card while  you're there!

Colour Create #89 - White, Light Brown and Dark Brown

Hi,
Back again with Colour Create's Challenge #89. Shanna has challenged us to use the colours white or cream, light brown and dark brown with the optional extra challenge of adding hearts to your creation. Here is her inspiration pic:

2 February - Challenge 89 - Shanna White or Cream, Light Brown, Dark Brown

I originally felt very challenged by these colours but then when I received my new Houndstooth background stamp from Hero Arts I knew exactly how to use them.

I used white for my card base and then cut another smaller white layer which I stamped with my Houndstooth stamp in Early Espresso ink.  I then decided to try out a new technique which I found over on Gayatri's blog here. She inspired me to create my own heart embossing plate. I punched out some small hearts from some shrink plastic and then adhered them on to some cardstock with double sided tape in a neat pattern. This then became my embossing plate and I ran it through my Cuttlebug with a small piece of white cardstock which is shown layered on top of my houndstooth layer. I punched out some more hearts from Kraft cardstock which I coated in Glossy Accents and then added to the bottom of my white layer. A very thin strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock was added above the hearts and then I used two separate sentiments from two stamp sets to create my sentiment on this card. I used Wishing You from Heartfelt Basics and Love from Daily Design Sentiments. These were stamped in Early Espresso ink. Finally I added a small strip of white pearls underneath my sentiment to finish it off.

On the inside of my card I stamped another combination of sentiments from Heartfelt Basics in Early Espresso ink.I layered another strip of stamped Houndstooth background along the bottom with a Chocolate Chip strip above. Two more Kraft hearts finished with Glossy Accents were added along this strip.

I had lots of fun experimenting with new techniques on this card and did I mention how much I LOVE that Houndstooth stamp?? Its fantastic and I will be using this one a lot!! Now make sure you hop over to the Colour Create blog to enter this fortnight's challenge and check out the girls' cards - they're gorgeous!!

Colour Create #88 - Pink, Green & Neutral

Hi!
Slowly getting back into the swing of things - starting work again tomorrow,  which I am really not looking forward to. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my job, but I have really enjoyed these summer holidays and am sad they are over.  Anyway, today its time for another Colour Create Challenge and #88's challenge is to use Pink, Green & Neutral with the optional extra of adding handmade flowers. Here is Suzie's lovely inspiration photo:

19 January - Challenge 88 - Suzie

We are sponsored this week by Kenny K:

Here is my take on the colours:

For this card I used Stamper's Select White for my base and printed my Kenny K digi - Maddison Attitude onto another layer of white card. I also added my own computer generated sentiment using a new font I found - Digs My Hart from Kevin and Amanda  - love this font! I coloured the image with Copics and also paper pieced some of her using some pretty papers from Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely Collection. Along the bottom I added another strip of matching DeLovely paper and some white lace above the join. For my handmade flowers, I used some pink DMC thread to crochet three small flowers and then sewed them with matching button onto the paper strip.

On the inside I kept in simple by printing out another computer generated sentiment and adding a strip of DeLovely paper along the bottom.

You have a fortnight to enter the challenge, so make sure you check out the Colour Create blog with the rest of the lovely DT's creations.

Supplies
Stamps: Maddison Attitude digi (Kenny K)

Colour Create #87 - Red, Cream and Sage Green

Hi there!!
I'm back after a little blogging break - needed some time to recharge the batteries before getting back into the swing of creating again. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.

It's Edna's turn to post this fortnight's Colour Create Challenge #87 - Red, Cream and Sage. What gorgeous colours!! Here is her inspiration pic for you:

5 January - Challenge 87 - Edna - cream, sage, red

This week's challenge is being sponsored by:

and the winner will receive a $5 voucher to spend in store.

For my card I decided to use Rustic Cream for my base and then some gorgeous paper from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop collection with Real Red cardstock added to the bottom section. I tied some twill ribbon around the join and then added a Pure Poppy flower button threaded with twine.
The sentiment is from Birthday Balloon Jolinne stamped in Rustic Cream ink and heat embossed with clear powder. It's a bit smudgy looking as I dropped the ink pad right on this section and did my best to clean it all away!
My image is from AnnaBelle stamps - Lil Molly's Flowers, coloured with Copics and paper pieced with more Thrift Shop paper and some sage cardstock. She was then cut out with my oval nesties and framed with my scallop oval nesties. Finally she was adhered to the card with foam dimensional tape.

My card was so late (I didn't check the date and though we had another week before the challenge started!) so the inside hasn't been done on this card yet.

I am entering this card into Ribbon Carousel Challenge's RCC34 - Anything Goes as well:

Hop on over to the Colour Create blog to have a look - the ladies are back with some lovely creations!

Colour Create #86 - Silver, Blue and White

Its time for the last Colour Create Challenge of the year and this one is perfect for Christmas - Silver, Blue and White. Here is the lovely inspiration pic, chosen by Sharon:

15 December - Challenge 86 - Sharon L SILVER BLUE & WHITE

I decided to go Christmassy again as I have had heaps of cards to make for the ladies at work.

I have to apologise about the quality of this photo - the ink is much clear IRL, but no matter how I positioned my lights, I couldn't get a better picture. Anyhow, I edged my white base with my Apron Lace border punch and then punched two snowflakes down the right hand side. I used some blue and white Christmas paper and placed this behind the punched out snowflakes and then added a layer of white on the inside to cover the paper.  I stamped my sentiment with some silver ink and tied some white ribbon around the bottom. Finally I added a row of blue pearls above my ribbon.

On the inside, I stamped my sentiment again with some silver ink and then adhered the two snowflakes cut out of the card front to the corners.

Now make sure you hop on over to the Colour Create blog. Our sponsor this week is Michelle's Scrapbooking and the winner will receive a $30 gift voucher to spend!

Supplies
Stamps: Snowflake Serenade (PTI)
Cardstock: Stampers Select White (PTI); Blue and White DP
Ink: Silver pigment ink

Colour Create #85 - Red, Green and White

Sorry I haven't been here much on the blog in the last couple of weeks - just taking a little time to catch up on preparations for Christmas, but I am glad to be back!! This week is time again for another Colour Create challenge and we are going traditional with Sylvia's choice of colours - red, green and white with the option of adding snowflakes:
1 December - Challenge 85 - Sylvia
Here is my take on these colours:

I chose to work with a Lili of the Valley image - Christmas Baubles which hasn't seen ink yet. I coloured the image with Copics and stamped my sentiment from Taylored Expressions' Wings of Joy in Always Artichoke ink. The border along the bottom was cut with my Apron Lace border punch from Real Red cardstock and then cut in half.  Finally the main layer was then matted on some more Real Red card and added to the Kraft base.

I added the snowflakes from Wings of Joy along the bottom of the inside layer in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured in with Copics. The sentiment was stamped in Always Artichoke ink.

Take a look over at Colour Create for more inspiration from the fabulous Design Team and link up your card for your chance to win this fortnight's prize. Details of the prize can be found on the Colour Create blog.

Colour Create #84 - PInk, Gold and White

Another fortnight has passed, so that means its time for our next Colour Create Challenge. Challenge #84 uses some classic colours -  Pink, Gold and White with the option of adding some bling to your card. This week's challenge is sponsored by Michelle's Scrapbooking:

and the winner will receive a $15 voucher to spend in the store!

Here is the inspiration pic to follow:

Even though I picked this fortnight's colours, when it came time to make my cards I really struggled, so therefore I have two creations as I couldn't decide which one I preferred! Here is my first:

I kept this one very CAS using some Stampers Select White for my base and stamping a small butterfly image from Butterfly Dreams in various shades of pink along the bottom. I then stamped my sentiment from Inside & Out: Birthday in Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink. (I have only just found this ink and it stamps perfectly and very crisply!!). I then tied some pink ribbon underneath the sentiment and added some Soft Pink rhinestones above this. Finally I rounded the corners.

On the inside, I used one of the smallest butterflies and again stamped this in varying pink shades. The sentiment also from Inside & Out: Birthday is stamped again in Galaxy Gold ink.

My next card uses gold as the main focal colour:

I used Pink Pirouette as my base and then added a layer of Stampers Select White. On my main white layer I stamped the small butterfly image from Butterfly Dreams in Galaxy Gold and embossed, adding some pink rhinestones between each.

My sentiment from an old Saleabration Set - Yummy, was stamped in Galaxy Gold and embossed. This was then matted on more Pink Pirouette card, some pink ribbon tied around the centre and the sentiment layer added to the card.

The inside uses just the flourish from the Yummy set stamped in Galaxy Gold ink. I left the inside blank as I wasn't sure yet whether this card will be a thank you card or a birthday card.

The rest of the team have used this colours perfectly so hop over to the Colour Create blog to check them out!!
