Card Marathon

Hi,
I will back on the blog a lot over the next week as I share cards I am making as part of a gift package for some family members. I am having a lot of trouble with my internet at the moment so I will slowly upload them before Christmas. Here is my first card using Lili of the Valley's Teddy Flower stamp image:

I used Kraft for my base and a layer of Lemon Zest card on top. I stamped my teddy image in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him in with my Copics. Both clouds were die cut using my Papertrey cloud dies and the sentiment was stamped on the larger cloud using Early Espresso ink. I then ran them both through my Cuttlebug with my Linen impression plate and popped them up on dimensionals. I did edge the clouds with my clear glitter pen, but I couldn't capture this in my photos.

On the inside I decided to leave it blank with no message, however I stamped the butterflies from the Teddy Flower image repeatedly in the corner and coloured them in with Copics.

I have made this card for the Lili's Little Fairies Challenge Blog which is a new challenge being offered by Lili of The Valley. There are some fabulous prizes up for grabs as well this week:

Colour Create #85 - Red, Green and White

Sorry I haven't been here much on the blog in the last couple of weeks - just taking a little time to catch up on preparations for Christmas, but I am glad to be back!! This week is time again for another Colour Create challenge and we are going traditional with Sylvia's choice of colours - red, green and white with the option of adding snowflakes:
1 December - Challenge 85 - Sylvia
Here is my take on these colours:

I chose to work with a Lili of the Valley image - Christmas Baubles which hasn't seen ink yet. I coloured the image with Copics and stamped my sentiment from Taylored Expressions' Wings of Joy in Always Artichoke ink. The border along the bottom was cut with my Apron Lace border punch from Real Red cardstock and then cut in half.  Finally the main layer was then matted on some more Real Red card and added to the Kraft base.

I added the snowflakes from Wings of Joy along the bottom of the inside layer in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured in with Copics. The sentiment was stamped in Always Artichoke ink.

Take a look over at Colour Create for more inspiration from the fabulous Design Team and link up your card for your chance to win this fortnight's prize. Details of the prize can be found on the Colour Create blog.

Colour Create # 81

Well school has gone back for the last term which means I have returned to work also! Now I am getting ready for life to get busy, busy, busy! With end of year functions coming up, dancing concerts, work commitments at school along with the daily running around, I think this term will fly by and it will be Christmas before we know it! Therefore, this fortnight's Colour Create challenge is perfect for making another Christmas card to add to my stash. The colours chosen by Mina are lilac, grey and white with the optional extra of adding snowflakes. Here is the inspiration pic:

6 Oct - Challenge 81 - Mina - Lilac, grey and white

I have also decided to enter this card into two other challenges. I used this week's Card Patterns Sketch:

and also as I was using a Lili of The Valley stamp, I decided to enter into their challenge this week which is to use buttons on your creation. The stamp set I have used is Christmas Dance. I have only recently received my very first order from them and I am in love with their stamps - they are absolutely gorgeous!!

Now I know my colours don't look like lilac, but I used my closest option which was a Lavender Moon base with some similar lavendar paper for my first layer. I stamped my image onto some white cardstock and coloured her in with copics. I punched a strip of Lavender Moon card on either side with my Apron Lace border punch and added a strip of grey DP to layer on top. I punched three snowflakes with my Martha Stewart punch and added glitter with some heat and stick powder. I adhered each of these along my lace strip and added a button to the centre of each with glossy accents. Finally I used my two way glue pen to add glitter to my image. My sentiment is from Holiday Button Bits and was stamped in Smokey Shadow ink.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from SU's stamp set Snow Swirled with Smokey Shadow ink. To add the stars around my sentiment, I used my Lili Of The Valley image again, but only added ink to one star at a time and carefully added them one by one. Finally I coloured them in with my V91 and V95 copic markers.

So hop on over to the Colour Create blog and check out the gorgeous creations from the team and link up your creation while you are there!!
