CSAYL - Resist The Temptation

Okay, time for another Christmas challenge over at CSAYL and this week is a tough one. Create a card or project with absolutely no stamping!! The challenge is sponsored by A Perfect Presentation and the winner receives a free template of their choice:

The good thing about this for me as it forced me to reach into my stash of rubons and ribbon that I rarely use now and I am happy with the result even though I missed my trusty stamps!

I worked again with the Uptown Takeout template, printing it onto Kraft cardstock. I used some Cristina Re papers to decorate and some pink ribbon from my stash to tie around the box. I used an old Christmas rubon with some white cardstock and then cut it with my 1 1/4" circle punch. I matted this on a Bashful Blue piece punched with my Scallop Circle punch. The edge of the scallop was blinged up with some blue rhinestones and then this was all added to the front of the box with dimensionals.

I punched two small holes through the top with my Crop A Dile and tied more pink ribbon through to hold it together. I used another rubon for my tag with white cardstock and then handcut this out and punched a tiny hole. Some twine was thread through  and around the pink ribbon.

Not your usual Christmas colours but I really loved the pinks and Kraft together and guess the bling makes it look a little more Christmassy.

Now hop on over to the CSAYL blog to see the rest of the girls' creations and link up your entry for a chance to win!! Only 8 more Christmas challenges to go!!

CSAYL challenge - Warm and Fuzzy

Hi,
Time for another CSAYL challenge and this week the sponsor is A Perfect Presentation:

..and the challenge is to use felt on your creation. The winner of this week's challenge will receive a template of their choice.
I have used the Easy Candy Wrap template this week and I printed it out onto some white cardstock.  I then cut another piece of white cardstock to wrap around the centre of the box and stamped some Baja Breeze snowflakes randomly on all sides. I then used the To/From sentiment from A Rhonna Christmas set in Night of Navy ink. I used some Ocean Tides felt for my two borders and created this by using the scallop piece from MFT's Banner Die set a few times and adhering on all four sides. (I need to build up my die collection!).
I then stamped the Christmas tree also from the Rhonna Christmas set in Old Olive ink, hand cut it, mounted it on dimensionals and covered it in Glossy Accents. To finish off the tree I added some Chilli Sprinkles from AnnaBelle Stamps.  I then punched out some tiny snowflakes and adhered them with glue dots all over the main section of the candy wrap. Finally I tied some Cranberry seam binding from My Craft Spot around each end.

I can definately see I wll be making a lot more of these Easy Candy Wraps and think they would be a perfect addition to the dinner table on Christmas day instead of the traditional bonbons. Make sure you pop over to the CSAYL blog and enter your creation for your chance to win a fabulous template as well as being inspired by the DT's wonderful work!!

Thank for visiting!!

CSAYL Challenge - Create Patterned Paper

Its Friday, so that means another fantastic CSAYL challenge. This week the challenge is sponsored by A Perfect Presentation:

The challenge is to create your own patterned paper with stamps to embellish your template. The winner of this challenge will be able to choose a free template of their choice and their templates are gorgeous and so easy to work with! Here is my creation - I used the Cute Carton template:

I decided to create my background paper directly on the template base and for this I used Kraft cardstock. I printed the template out and then first stamped a grid in Versmark ink using my Guidelines ll grid stamp. Once I had done this, I stamped one medallion in Crumb Cake ink and a second medallion in Cherry Cobbler ink.
To add some Christmas sparkle, I individuallly stamped the third medallion in Whisper White Craft ink, added Heat and Stick powder, set it with my heat gun, added Dazzling Diamonds glitter and heat set it again. It looked much more effective than just adding my white ink and was worth the extra time.

The label was created by punching my white cardstock with my Curly Label punch, stamping the striped background with Cherry Cobbler ink and then hand cutting a slightly larger Scarlet Jewel piece as a mat. The sentiment is from the Short and Sweet stamp set, also stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink. I added this to the carton on some white ribbon. To keep the carton closed, I punched holes and threaded through some Scarlet Jewel ribbon (which is a very close match to Cherry Cobbler).

I will be making heaps more of these cartons, not only for Christmas, but for other occasions throughout the year as the template is so user friendly. I'm now off to look at the CSAYL blog to see what all the other designers have created, so have a look too and have a go at this awesome challenge!

Have a great weekend!
