Hi,
Today it is time for the fortnightly colour challenge over at Colour Create and this time it was my turn to pick the colours and I just loved this colour combo for Challenge 60:
The colours to use are aqua, purple, green and white with the optional extra of glitter. The sponsor for this week is Michelle's Scrapbooking:
Here is my card:
I turned to one of my all time favourite sets - Guidelines Two by Papertrey Ink. This is a wonderful set for building lovely background papers. I used three small images repeatedly to create my purple, green and aqua background and then matted this layer on Certainly Celery card. I popped some silver rhinestones in the centre of each purple medallion to add some bling. The strip down the side consists of some Plum Pudding cardstock punched with my Upper Crest border punch and then a strip of white on top. I used some scor tape on the edge to sprinkle a strip of glitter and finished off with some Hawaiian Shores ribbon. For the sentiment, I first stamped a flourish in Certainly Celery ink and the message over the top in Plum Pudding ink. I then die cut this with a circle nestie and layered this on a white die cut circle.
I used the same patterned background to create my strip for the inside and matted this on Plum Pudding cardstock with a matching sentiment.
The design team have created some wonderful cards with this colour combo so take a look over at the Colour Create blog and add your card for a chance to win this week's prize from Michelle's Scrapbooking.
While I was creating this card, I had so much fun that I decided to use the same layout to create a card for my niece for her 18th birthday:
For this card I used Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo and Blushing Bride to create my background. I used some lace and chocolate seam binding to decorate my strip along the side. Here is the inside:
I just have to hope that she doesn't check my facebook page in the next week or this card won't be a surprise!
Enjoy the rest of your week,
